About us
Medi Foundation Student Society is a group under the umbrella of Medi Foundation. The Student Society was formed within the body of Medi Foundation Anti-Addiction Association, and aims to support all students studying at universities in TRNC, regardless of religion, language, race and sect. We are always in the process of providing assistance and support required for the student population in higher education here in TRNC. We work, in particular, within the frame of physical and mental problems students may experience with alcohol, cigarette, internet and drug addiction. We aim to build a community of harmony between locals and students, engaging the students with opportunities and workshops for a more healthy experience in Northern Cyprus.
Medi foundation student society is determined, in principle, to provide the right support at the right time to students struggling in how to deal with the problems they experience due to addiction, and to ensure they are included in the treatment and rehabilitation process, in cooperation with the relevant units of the state.
The Medi Foundation Student Society will give priority to education and awareness of all universities in the TRNC, on issues that have become widespread among university students in recent years. Such issues as substance addiction, internet addiction and gambling addiction, which negatively affect the entire lives of students, causing disagreements and misunderstandings that hamper trust between different communities in Northern Cyprus.
We organize workshops and seminars on these topics to help our students better understand these issues, as well as understand how we can help them at the Medi Foundation Student society. We also organize and host sports, cultural and artistic events to tackle isolation within the student bodies and help students stay away from risks by spending quality time with their peers and community building.
The Medi Foundation logo represents the history and heritage of Cyprus and the broader region, drawing inspiration from ancient civilizations such as the Greeks, Romans, Ottomans, Egyptians, and Persians. The logo depicts the structure and columns of the great empires’ buildings, symbolizing strength, resilience, and the enduring nature of human history.
The four inner lines of the column represent the core values of the Medi Foundation, which are education, prevention, support, and recovery from addiction and associated mental health disorders. By prioritizing these values, we aim to promote mental health and overall well-being for individuals and communities impacted by addiction. The logo serves as a reminder of our commitment to these values and our mission to empower individuals and communities to overcome addiction and thrive.
